![]() This is how much it ruined our enjoyment. I would have given the Harvest House a five star rating, but because the the rude treatment I am giving it a two star. I ordered the salmon salad with fresh spinach leaves and a honey mustard dressing and the salmon was cooked perfectly. If she had asked me if I was enjoying the lunch, I would have told her it was simply delicious. We had no idea what we did to anger this person, and still don't. The contrast between the treatment was glaring. She left our table and went directly to another table where she asked them if they were enjoying their food and if they would like dessert. ![]() We ate and then she came back and threw our check on the table, again with no word. When she brought back our food she threw it on the table without a word and left. Then another person, a female wait staff took our order for food and was "snappy", with an attitude. The first wait staff came to take our drink order and we both ordered water with lemon. We walked in and seated ourselves at the last table on the right side, by the window. My friend had been before and recommended it. My friend and I went to lunch at the Harvest House today, October 4th 2022. He came right up to us 3 gals and hugged us.I am using my husband's account to write this review. On New Year’s Day we arrived in a huge group. He told little stories, he shared laughs. We were shocked Wow he went beyond for us. ![]() He actually ran out to a nearby store and bought us a few cans. (Tonic water for our happy hour at our hotel) □They had it but in huge bottles. We asked for something at the restaurant they didn’t have. He treated us like family and looked after us like long lost friends. He definitely is a sweetheart and doesn’t look like he’s been there that long but he sure loves what he does. I understand he’s been serving at the Harbour House for 40 years. We had a number of meals here and a few staff stand out. The prices are comparable to life in Victoria. The atmosphere is comfortable, the food is excellent, the wines etc. If I lived in Victoria I honestly think I would be eating at The Harbour House every week. Next time Mother wants to take us to Harbour House, we will decline. Our waiter was very attentive but had something wrong with his teeth or mouth, and I really wished he had worn a face mask as I felt he was too close and talking right over the table. Granted this is a touristy restaurant in the main tourist section of Victoria, BC, so it's possible they have more "one time only" customers than regulars. My mother had oysters Rockefeller for her main, but even she was not happy or impressed. The waiter offered to get me another one but I declined. It was so salty I could not eat much of it. Supposed to be filled with a variety of seafood but the only things I could find (in what was basically an extremely salty cheese soup) was a few slices of mushrooms, about 3 small prawns and a couple of pieces of scallop. He and I both had the seafood en croute for our main. Hubby had oysters Rockefeller, and he thought. Welcome to Harvest House Restaurant Welcome to Harvest House Restaurant Welcome to Harvest House Restaurant. For a starter, I had lobster bisque, very salty and a small amount. It has been one of her fave restaurants for many years, but last night was very, very disappointing.
